Cut-backs in Radio nan Gaidheal

That the Parliament recognises the importance to the Gaelic community of Radio nan Gaidheal; opposes the cuts imposed by the BBC on its editorial budget; condemns the lack of consultation before the cuts were imposed; recognises that this will threaten the livelihood of freelance Gaelic journalists and put further pressure on the BBC’s Gaelic staff, and therefore calls on the Controller of BBC Scotland to reverse this decision which is clearly detrimental to the Gaelic community.

Gearraidhean ann an Radio nan Gaidheal: Gu bheil a' Phàrlamaid ag aithneachadh cho cudromach agus a tha Radio nan Gaidheal don Choimhearsnachd Ghàidhlig, gu bheil i a' cur an aghaidh nan gearraidhean anns a’ bhuidseit dheasachaidh aige; gu bheil i ag aithneachadh gu bheil e coltach gun dèan seo cron mòr air beò-shlàint an luchd-naidheachd Ghàidhlig a tha ag obair air an ceann-fhèin agus gun cuir seo barrachd cudthruim air luchd-obrach Gàidhlig a’ BhBC agus mar sin gu bheil i ag iarraidh air Stiùiriche BBC na h-Alba an co-dhùnadh seo, a bhios gu follaiseach millteach don choimhearsnachd Ghàidhlig, a atharrachadh.
