Beautiful Scotland in Bloom Awards 2006
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Alness in Bloom team for winning the top award in the prestigious Beautiful Scotland in Bloom campaign; notes that this is the fifth time in 10 years that Alness, Ross-shire, has taken the coveted rose bowl trophy, having won previously in 1997, 1998, 2000 and 2004; further notes that, in addition to the rose bowl trophy, Alness has also won the small town trophy, the horticultural award and the David Welch Memorial Award for Something Special; notes that, in addition to Alness, both Forres and Duffus, in Moray, were also honoured, with Forres winning the medium town trophy and Duffus the small village trophy; pays tribute to the hard work and enthusiasm of all the teams involved, and wishes Alness every success for the results of the first-ever Britain in Bloom Champion of Champions title, to be announced in Perth on Thursday 21 September 2006.
