Congratulating Pakistan and India on 61 Years of Independence
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates India and Pakistan on the 61st anniversary of their independence from British rule; applauds both countries for their many successes over the last 61 years, including India on becoming the world's second fastest growing economy and Pakistan for its flourishing research institutes; notes and celebrates the extensive contribution of Indians and Pakistanis living in Scotland; applauds the significant steps both countries have taken in working closer with one another, and wishes them both continued success in the years to come.
