Peace Voyage to Gaza
The motion
That the Parliament applauds the efforts of the crews of the SS Liberty and SS Free Gaza in highlighting the difficulties faced by the Palestinian people; supports their peaceful efforts to break through the siege of Gaza by sailing from Cyprus; hopes that the medicine supplies that they are carrying help alleviate the shortages currently being experienced by the people of Gaza; notes that those on board include a holocaust survivor, the sister-in-law of former Prime Minister, Tony Blair, and two Scots, Theresa McDermott and Andrew Muncie; further notes that the trip is endorsed by Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Noam Chomsky and Nobel Peace Laureate, Mairead Maguire, and wishes them well on their long and dangerous journey across the Mediterranean.
