Cardenden and Denend Primary Schools
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the head teachers, school staff and pupils of Cardenden and Denend primary schools, the Cardenden community, Fife Council and its Education and Children’s Services Committee, chaired by Councillor Douglas Chapman, on their swift and successful response to the detection of serious structural deterioration at Cardenden Primary; notes that the pupils and staff rapidly moved to Denend Primary, one and a half miles away, which had available classrooms and where the school reopened on 3 November 2008, so ensuring pupil and staff safety with little interruption to teaching and learning while making it possible for full examination and repairs to get underway as quickly as possible, and expresses its hope that pupils and staff can return quickly to Cardenden Primary after repairs have been carried out.
