Glasvegas Shortlisted for Mercury Award
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Glasgow-based band Glasvegas on making the shortlist for the 2009 Mercury Prize with its self-titled debut album; notes that the band, which was formed in 2006 and discovered by Alan McGee, formerly of Creation Records, was last year named the NME's most promising new band, and wishes the band the best of luck ahead of the Mercury winner being announced on 8 September 2009.
