Dunfermline Conservation Area Regeneration Scheme
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the Dunfermline Conservation Area Regeneration Scheme (CARS) funded by Historic Scotland, Fife Council and the private sector; notes that the five-year regeneration scheme aims to conserve and enhance the Dunfermline Outstanding Conservation Area, and further welcomes that the initiative will include reinstatement of traditional shop fronts, restoring the historic character of the town centre, restoration of Pittencrieff House Museum, on its 400th anniversary, the work being carried out by Fife Council’s historic building squad with support from the Scottish Lime Centre in Charlestown and the building repairs to the Gillespie Memorial Church, which will help the congregation remain in the town centre and continue with its work in the community.
