Promoting Robert Burns

That the Parliament welcomes the renaming of committee room one in the Parliament as the Burns Room; notes the support for the initiative by the Irvine Burns Club; further notes that the club was founded in 1826 and is this year hosting its 185th annual celebration; recognises the efforts of the Irvine Burns Club to promote the work and life of Robert Burns through the decades, including the establishment of the Irvine Burns Museum in 1962; applauds the success of the Dear Mister Burns exhibition hosted by the Club, and believes that initiatives such as these will leave a lasting legacy for future generations.
