Dehydrated Older People in Care Homes
The motion
That the Parliament is concerned regarding reports that a patient from a private sector care home in Fife was admitted to Dunfermline's Queen Margaret Hospital because of dehydration; appreciates the work of the clinicians who, it understands, saved the woman’s life; understands with alarm that this is not the first such case involving private sector care homes in Fife, and hopes that, when attending to care needs, all agencies make it a top priority to ensure that they carefully monitor the drinking and feeding routines of every care home resident or hospital patient.
