Student Bus Tickets in Aberdeen

That the Parliament notes with concern the increase of almost 10% in the cost of student bus tickets in Aberdeen; welcomes that a number of students from both Aberdeen and Robert Gordon’s universities have, it considers, rightfully raised concerns at this increase with the operator, First Group; understands that many bus operators have been left with little option but to consider fare increases after the cuts to the Bus Service Operators Grant; further considers that students are just one of the many groups affected by high bus fares in Aberdeen, and calls on the Scottish Government to ensure that students and residents in Aberdeen have access to affordable bus services.
