Manufacturing in Scotland
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the Scottish Government’s paper, Scotland’s economy: the case for independence, which was launched at Alexander Dennis, the coach manufacturers in Falkirk, which now produces around half of all the UK’s buses; recognises the emphasis that is being put on manufacturing in the current and future Scottish economy; congratulates the Scottish Vintage Bus Museum, based at Lathalmond near Dunfermline, on all its work in restoring and operating around 160 historic buses, most of Scottish origin; appreciates the current free tours around west Fife provided by the museum, and sees these endeavours as a commitment to a continuing manufacturing industry in an independent Scotland.
