As an amendment to motion S4M-07711 in the name of Kevin Stewart (Aberdeen's In-home Care Crisis), leave out from "with regret" to end and insert "that the current administration of Aberdeen City Council has increased the social work budget by £3 million this year and is planning continued investment over the next five years and beyond; further understands that this is part of the local authority’s long-term strategy for growth and investment in older people’s services in order to help manage the huge challenges ahead associated with the city’s ageing population; believes that improvements in service delivery are consulted on regularly with those who rely on care services and that the city’s Care Works project will establish a care local labour initiative to allow a single point of access for anyone wishing to work or find out about working in social care, and considers that these initiatives and investments are in sharp contrast to the actions of the previous SNP-led administration of the city, which it understands introduced 60% cuts to the social work budget for older people’s services".
