Child Poverty

As an amendment to motion S4M-09482 in the name of Margaret Burgess (Child Poverty), leave out from "; further welcomes" to end and insert "but believes that better data is required to track progress toward the strategy’s outcomes; notes that child poverty has fallen substantially over the last 15 years; recognises the shared commitment between the UK Government and the Scottish Government on tackling child poverty, and considers that work represents the best route out of poverty and that addressing educational inequalities, especially the 'attainment gap', is one of the most effective tools in the fight against child poverty in Scotland".
