Congratulations to Falkirk Community Hospital

That the Parliament congratulates the staff at Falkirk Community Hospital on it receiving an exemplary inspection by the Healthcare Environment Inspectorate (HEI) in May 2014; understands that no requirements or recommendations were made following the inspection and that it is the first hospital to get a clean bill of health on its first inspection; notes that the hospital, which opened in 2010 as part of a reorganisation of healthcare in NHS Forth Valley, has four wards and 96 beds and offers rehabilitation, palliative care and care for older people as well as outpatient services; further notes that, of the 36 patients who responded to the HEI survey during the inspection, 83% stated that they thought the wards were always clean and 69% said that the equipment used for care was always clean and in good repair; believes that the high standards found during the inspection are an excellent example of the standards that every patient in every hospital has the right to expect in order to prevent healthcare associated infections, and commends all of the staff who have worked tirelessly to improve the inpatient wards in order to ensure that there is a safe, clean and pleasant environment for patients, staff and visitors.
