Recognising the Life of Lesley Graham
The motion
That the Parliament recognises the life of Lesley Graham and the immense contribution that it considers she made to others as a mother, a teacher and during her long and difficult struggle with cancer; believes that she was a hardworking, inspirational and much-loved presence in the classroom as well as a wonderful mother to her only daughter; recognises that, despite the delays in her treatment and diagnosis for cancer for which she received an apology from the NHS board, her determination to fight for others continued through her online blog; considers that her brave decision to write about her experience with cancer not only helped her and her family come to terms with the diagnosis, but proved to be an inspiration to many other cancer patients both in Scotland and around the world, and, in mourning the loss of Lesley, believes that her legacy will live on providing comfort and inspiration to those who continue to fight against cancer.
