The Herald Higher Education Awards
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the winners of the inaugural Herald Higher Education Awards, which were held in association with the University of the West of Scotland; recognises in particular the University of Glasgow for winning the Higher Education Institution of the Year award; believes that the event demonstrated the high standard of academic and support work being undertaken in Scotland’s higher education sector; notes that a report published by the Higher Education Statistics Agency for 2013-14 shows that graduates from Scotland’s 19 higher education institutions have the best record of professional level jobs in the UK, and thanks all staff and students for their hard work in ensuring that Scotland continues to have what it considers a world-leading higher education sector.
