Glasgow Film Festival
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the organisers of the Glasgow Film Festival, which is hosted by the Glasgow Film Theatre, on what it understands have been nine successful years of celebrating the diverse forms of cinematic expression; notes that the Hollywood star, Richard Gere, attended the closing night of the 2016 festival for the first UK screening of his film, Time Out of Mind, at which he urged the audience to lobby politicians to tackle the issue of homelessness, and understands that the 12-day festival hosted more than 300 events and screenings at various locations around the city.
