The motion

That the Parliament acknowledges that 23 March is celebrated as the national day of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan; notes that this is in recognition both of the Lahore Resolution by the All-India Muslim League in 1940, which called for the establishment of independent and autonomous states for Muslims in British India, and 23 March 1956 being the day that Pakistan became the first Islamic republic, and welcomes the renewed national pledges to make the country stronger by completely wiping out the menace of terrorism and achieving sustainable economic growth and greater political stability.
