2016 Borders Common Ridings and Festivals
The motion
That the Parliament recognises the cultural and historical importance of the various common ridings and festivals across the Scottish Borders, including those at Selkirk, Jedburgh, Hawick, Kelso, Duns, Coldstream and Yetholm; understands that each one of them has a rich tradition, with some dating back to the 16th century; appreciates their modern-day value in bringing communities together; congratulates 2016's principals on their appointment, and wishes the organisers and participants every success and enjoyment during the festivities.
