Motion · S5M-01911 · 7 Oct 2016
Congratulations to Hawick Teries Running for Ronnie
The motion
That the Parliament commends everyone who participated in the recent Loch Ness Marathon, Loch Ness 10K and Loch Ness 5K and, in particular, the team of 30 from Hawick running in memory of the late Common Riding stalwart, Ronnie Nichol; believes that the team of 30 Teries, led by Ronnie’s nephew and former Cornet, Ross Nichol, raised over £5,000 for Pancreatic Cancer UK and the Margaret Kerr Palliative Care Unit at Borders General Hospital; notes that by "Running for Ronnie", the team raised a fantastic sum of money for two really good causes and paid a fitting tribute to Ronnie for his years of service to Hawick, the Common Riding and Hawick Rugby.
