Robotic-assisted Prostate Cancer Surgery
The motion
That the Parliament celebrates the pioneering robotic surgery service for prostate cancer treatment that has been introduced at the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh; understands that this will be used to treat men from across Scotland and has been jointly funded by Prostate Scotland, the Scottish Government and the NHS boards that are members of the South East Scotland Cancer Network (SCAN); understands that the £1.4 million da Vinci SI Surgical System has already helped to save the lives of 50 men and will allow access to the most up-to-date surgical treatment, and commends the team at the hospital and everyone associated with the successful Prostate Scotland appeal, Blue Horizon.
