Leonard Cheshire Disability’s Can Do Programme in Dumfries

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes Leonard Cheshire Disability’s Can Do programme in Dumfries, which allows 16- to 35-year-olds with additional support needs to positively contribute to their communities through volunteering; congratulates the Can Do volunteers from St Joseph’s College in Dumfries on their fantastic work with Let’s Get Sporty at Cargenbridge Primary School; recognises the importance of  programmes such as Can Do in 2018, which is the Year of Young People, and welcomes the significant benefits of the programme, which include boosting the skills and confidence of young people and breaking down barriers to employment by raising awareness of many issues including disability.
