STV Children's Appeal Award for West Dunbartonshire Community Foodshare
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates West Dunbartonshire Community Foodshare on its £2,000 award from the STV Children’s Appeal to support its work with children and young people in the community; recognises that the project provides non-perishable food packs, a breakfast and lunch service for children during school holidays, a school uniform bank and cooking and growing projects where families can learn to prepare low-cost, nutritious meals, and understands that the organisation will use the money to increase project workers’ hours in order to deliver their cooking course to more people, teaching them to cook from scratch to provide healthy meals while lowering their food bills.
