Mentor Project in Edinburgh
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Edinburgh-based project, Mentor, on its £72,979 grant from Young Start; understands that it will provide programmes to protect girls and young women from alcohol and other drugs by giving them the knowledge, skills and self-confidence that they need to make healthy choices, by providing group support and peer mentoring in schools; notes that its community activities will include a life-coaching programme, mentoring, life skills courses and individual workshops; acknowledges that it will work with 240 young people and involve 22 volunteers, and wishes all concerned every success.
