Pinsent Masons Ranked Stonewall’s Most LGBT-inclusive Employer 2019
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the international law firm, Pinsent Masons, on being named the most inclusive employer in the UK by the LGBT charity, Stonewall, in its top 100 employers list for 2019; understands that the firm, which employs around 500 staff in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow, has also been ranked among the UK’s top trans-inclusive employers; considers that the top 100 is the UK’s leading ranking of employers from across the public, private and third sectors for assessing workplace inclusivity; understands that Pinsent Masons was the first in the legal sector to engage with Stonewall and feature in the charity’s annual review when it launched in 2008; further understands that the firm has been commended for its range of inclusive policies and practices for LGBT staff, including the introduction of specific trans-inclusive employee training to create a welcoming environment for trans colleagues, clients and visitors, as well as being actively involved in championing LGBT equality across the UK and working with school partners to build inclusive learning environments for young people; commends the hard work and dedication of all those within the firm, and wishes them well for the future.
