The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the news that the first stage of the renovation of the Hall of Clestrain in Orkney, the former home of the explorer, John Rae, is now complete; congratulates the efforts of the John Rae Society and the local builders, Paddy Casey Construction, on making the building wind and watertight; recognises that the next stage is to construct a temporary visitors’ centre for use on open days and other events, and wishes the John Rae Society every success in achieving this and with its ongoing efforts to renovate this important historic building.
