The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Glasgow Airport on in its efforts to alleviate levels of single-use plastic by offering the more than 5,300 people who work in and around the airport, from security staff to air crew, free refillable water bottles; understands that pupils from Sunnyside Primary School, who are known as the Sunnyside Ocean Defenders, were excited to visit the airport to help hand out the branded bottles; acknowledges that these young people have made headlines nationwide by organising the campaign, #NaeStrawAtAw, and that, in May 2018, the pupils were invited to the airport to spread the message to staff and passengers about the many alternatives to plastic straws; praises the airport team on making what it sees as a significant commitment to supply the reusable bottles, and believes that this is sending the powerful message that everyone can take steps to help to cut down on single-use plastic.
