Reading with Dogs Programme at St Peter the Apostle High School
The motion
That the Parliament highlights the work done by the Canine Concern Scotland Trust on its recent visits to St Peter the Apostle High School in Clydebank as part of an initiative to improve reading skills; understands that the Reading with Dogs programme gives S1 to S3 pupils the opportunity to read a story to a dog, and believes that, while the programme increases confidence and reading skills among the pupils involved, the charity’s dogs, Harley and Skye, also very much enjoy the experience.
