Retirement of RAF Tornado
The motion
That the Parliament notes the retirement of the Royal Air Force’s (RAF) fleet of Tornado combat aircraft; understands that the Tornado was first commissioned into service by the RAF in 1979; recognises the service of pilots, officers and support staff who enabled the operation of the Tornado over subsequent decades and across a range of conflicts and other duties around the world; congratulates the RAF on organising a range of events across the UK to say farewell to this historic aircraft, including flypasts at three former hosting sites in Scotland, at RAF Lossiemouth, RAF Tain and Leuchars Station, and expresses its gratitude to those currently serving in and supporting the RAF in its tireless work in the defence of this country.
