Scottish Police Federation's 100th Anniversary

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Scottish Police Federation (SPF) on the 100th anniversary of its establishment in the Police Act 1919; understands that the SPF is a statutory body created to represent police officers and bring to the attention of authorities matters affecting police welfare and efficiency and that it does so by being a vociferous defender of police officers' rights; appreciates that the SPF is a staff association representing the interests of police officers of all ranks up to and including Chief Inspector, which equates to over 98% of the police service, and commends the SPF on the work that it has done on behalf of its members and the significant contribution that it has made to the work of the Parliament since 1999.
