Launch of Maritime 50 Celebrations at the City of Glasgow College
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the principal, Paul Little, and the students and staff in the Nautical Faculty at the City of Glasgow College on the successful launch of their celebrations, Maritime 50, to mark a half century of maritime education and training on the banks of the Clyde; applauds the college on holding a dignified and respectful ceremony, which was attended by HRH The Princess Royal, at its world-leading Riverside Campus; notes that the launch is part of a year-long celebration of maritime training and skills on the Clyde; praises the college on continuing the work, which was established by its legacy institutions, in promoting Glasgow and Scotland as centres for excellence in maritime training and skills; recognises the importance of such skills in the modern world; appreciates the efforts of everyone in the nautical faculty on aiming to keep it at the forefront of the maritime industry, and wishes all involved with Maritime 50 every success for the anniversary year and beyond.
