USDAW Spotlight Campaign, Supporting Families with Caring Responsibilities
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates USDAW on its Spotlight campaign, which highlights the difficulties facing people who are struggling to balance caring responsibilities with employment; acknowledges the difficulties in juggling normal household activities, never mind requiring time off for medical appointments; is concerned at what it sees as a troubling economic climate that contributes to adding further pressure to people trying to balance care and work, especially those on insecure contracts or who do not have any choice in the hours that they work, and thanks USDAW for highlighting this concern among its membership and for campaigning for better family-friendly employment rights across Scotland.
