Landmark Anniversary for Ullapool Arts Hub
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Ullapool's Bridge House Art, which is one of the smallest and most highly-respected independent art schools in Scotland, on the 21st anniversary of its annual exhibition of portfolio coursework; notes that its portfolio course has run since the late 1990s and has hosted students from many countries, including Lithuania, France, Switzerland, Spain and the United States; recognises that its exhibition follows an intensive four-month training course in the visual arts for 12 people across the UK and mainland Europe; acknowledges that this course covers a range of disciplines, including painting, printmaking, textiles and sculpture, where students use those lessons to create a body of work from their chosen theme to be displayed and made available for purchase at the exhibition, and encourages Members to attend the exhibition, Resonance, which takes place from 24 February to 3 March 2019 at An Talla Solais gallery in Ullapool.
