Male Survivors of Sexual Violence

Lodged by Gail Ross Standard Motion 24 supporters

The motion

That the Parliament commends Finlay McFarlane for the courage that he has shown in waiving his right to anonymity to speak on BBC Scotland's, The Nine, about his experience as a male survivor of sexual violence; notes his efforts to tackle the stigma associated with male survivors, which, it believes, contributes to underreporting of such crime; recognises his campaign to start a national conversation about the lack of service provision for victims, and applauds Finlay on his efforts, along with third sector organisations, including Stay Brave, Survivors UK and Rape Crisis Scotland, to champion the needs of male survivors and raise their visibility through the campaign, This Man Too.
