Appointment of Elaine Grieve as Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Orkney
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Elaine Grieve on her appointment by The Queen as Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Orkney; acknowledges the achievements and dedication of her predecessor, Keith Johnson, who has retired from the position; recognises the significant role of lieutenancies in representing the Sovereign in their respective areas; understands that she will be the first woman to hold this post since its establishment in the 18th century, and wishes her well for her period of office.
