LEAP Awarded Lottery Funding
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Lightburn Elderly Association Project (LEAP) on being awarded £47,140 by the National Lottery Community Fund to support its learning and leisure programme for older people; notes that this includes running practical and fun activities, such as Zumba and computer classes, to help its service users engage positively with the community and to alleviate feelings of isolation and loneliness; acknowledges that LEAP was established in 1992 and operates across many areas of South Lanarkshire; understands that this funding will help support its activities for another two years and allow it to offer its services to other areas in the region, and wishes all at LEAP the best of luck with their endeavours.
