Asda Foundation Funding in Falkirk District
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes funding of nearly £2,500 for local causes in Falkirk district from the Asda Foundation; recognises that Asda Stenhousemuir recently secured local impact grants of £1,000 for Warriors in the Community, based at Stenhousemuir FC, working to provide football participation opportunities for people in the community of all ages and abilities, and £976.80 for Age Scotland, which provides relief to those in need in the community; understands that the Asda Foundation also provides local good causes with support at Christmas, which resulted in Age Scotland receiving £505 in December 2018 to purchase tables and chairs for its facilities; commends the Asda Foundation for investing over £370,000 in community projects and good causes over the last year, making a difference to people relying on these projects within their communities; congratulates Age Scotland and Warriors in the Community for what it sees as the fantastic work that they do locally to increase participation, reduce social inclusion and improve health and wellbeing; encourages more community groups and local causes to get in touch with their local Asda to see what support is available to them through applying for grants or the use of meeting rooms and facilities, and wishes everyone involved continued success in the future.
