CalMac Community Fund Opens
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the opening of the CalMac Community Fund; understands that the fund will support community-led activity by funding local non-profit organisations to deliver projects based on the islands served by CalMac and the mainland port towns; notes that grants of between £500 and £2,000 will be awarded across the six regional areas of the network and will be aimed at projects for children and young people; praises the fund’s use of a screening panel comprised of young people from across the CalMac network to judge applications as part of its partnership working with YoungScot, and looks forward to seeing the positive impact on the lives of young people across the CalMac network of the projects benefiting from the fund.
