Heriot-Watt University's Graduate Apprenticeships

Lodged by Gordon MacDonald Standard Motion 16 supporters

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes what it sees as the continued success of the Graduate Apprenticeship scheme at Heriot-Watt University; understands that 205 fully-funded places have been awarded to the university for the 2019-20 academic year, making it one of the largest providers of graduate apprenticeships for the third year running; notes that students spend 80% of their time with employers, gaining hands-on practical experience to complement their studies; believes that the scheme continues to build on the university’s commitment to help meet the needs of local and national employers that are seeking to upskill their workforce or take on talented school leavers, and wishes the graduate apprentices continued success.
