The motion
That the Parliament welcomes plans by Dunbar Surf Life Saving Club (DSLSC) to develop a volunteer Beach Surf Lifesaving Patrol at Belhaven Bay with the aid of a £10,000 grant from the Big Lottery Fund; notes that the project, which will train volunteers to provide a lifesaving service for the local community and visitors with the aim of making the beach and water a safer place for surfers and swimmers, is set to launch in the summer of 2019 and will be the first community-led voluntary surf patrol of its kind in Scotland; congratulates everyone at DSLSC on developing this important initiative, and looks forward to the service getting underway in the summer.
