Craigend Resource Centre Awarded Almost £1.2 Million from Regeneration Fund
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Craigend Resource Centre on being awarded £1.187 million by the Regeneration Capital Grant Fund for 2019-20; understands that the centre, which is based in the east end of Greenock, will use the investment to demolish the old centre and build a new larger facility in its place, which will include an improved café area, increased laundry facilities, a large community hall, a crèche space, a small interview/meeting space and an IT and learning space; commends the volunteers at the centre for their ambition and desire to become a community asset; recognises that this joint funding from the Scottish Government and COSLA will help support local jobs and regeneration activity in Inverclyde and across Scotland, and congratulates the 17 other projects that are receiving support from the £20.4 million fund, which assists initiatives that aim to help create jobs, refurbish old buildings, develop business space, support community facilities and services and benefit businesses and enterprises.
