Spartans Community Football Nominated for Awards
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates The Spartans Community Football Academy and its Youth Work Team on being nominated for two awards at the 2019 National Youth Work Awards; recognises that the academy has been nominated for the Raising Attainment Award for the work that it does with schools across Edinburgh to provide flexible, tailored learning for pupils outside the classroom, while the Youth Work Team has been nominated in the Equality and Diversity category for ensuring that the young people of North Edinburgh have a safe place to play, socialise and take part in activities; notes that the two nominations have come despite this year seeing the highest number of entries; recognises the value that the academy holds within the surrounding communities and the opportunities that it provides for local young people, and wishes the academy and the staff all the very best at the upcoming awards.
