West Region Scouts Outreach Initiative
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the West Region Scout Council in Renfrewshire on receiving £6,000 from the Awards for All Scotland programme; understands that the group will use the money to engage with young people from remote areas through a series of activities and events across the West of Scotland; believes that Scouting offers young people valuable opportunities to learn skills, socialise and improve their confidence; notes that, across the West Scotland region, there are 68 groups with almost 4,000 young people taking part in Scouting, and hopes to see this outreach programme attract many more.
