The Community Help and Advice Initiative, Wester Hailes
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Community Help and Advice Initiative (CHAI), which has received £16,919 from the Postcode Trust for its Welfare Advice and Representation Project to pay for a welfare rights worker to assist with income maximisation and provide advice and tribunal representation to people in Edinburgh, and believes that CHAI, which was formed in Wester Hailes in 1997, has made a significant contribution to the community by helping to relieve poverty and by providing social welfare assistance, information, advice and support.
