MS Support Service in Dundee
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the MS Society Scotland and the MS Therapy Centre Tayside on being awarded £132,773 by the Big Lottery Fund to offer a new support service for people in Dundee, Angus and Perth and Kinross; understands that My MS, My Way: Tayside will increase support, particularly for people newly-diagnosed with the condition, and will offer help from the point of diagnosis, counselling, self-management sessions and bespoke one-to-one peer support; acknowledges that £18,000 of match-funding from the NHS Tayside Community Innovation Fund will also help support the initiative; commends the joint efforts between the charity, and its Angus, Dundee and Perth groups, and the therapy centre to set this up; notes that the service is due to launch later in 2019, and wishes it every success.
