The motion

That the Parliament understands that the Scottish Cot Death Trust is the country's only charity dedicated to the issue of cot death, which is also known as sudden unexpected death in infancy; notes that, since it was founded in 1985, it has supported bereaved families nationwide by providing outreach support services for all family members, including at-home visiting, counselling, befriending, family days and a next infant support programme for subsequent pregnancies; acknowledges that it also provides both safe sleep and prevention of cot death training to professionals and parents free of charge; applauds it in funding medical research, having invested over £3.2 million to date, and hosting an international conference in Glasgow in June 2018, which was attended by representatives from 39 countries; recognises that 11 to 17 March 2019 was Safe Sleep Week; notes that this included the launch of a new safe sleep video, which is told from a baby's perspective; acknowledges that this can be seen by visiting safesleepscotland.org, and commends the charity on its vital work and support.
