St Euan's Primary School's Reducing Plastic Waste Initiative
The motion
That the Parliament commends the pupils in P5B at St Euan’s Primary School in Clydebank, who are on a mission to reduce plastic use in their school and encourage the wider public to be aware of the damage that plastic does to the environment; understands that a survey carried out by the pupils revealed that 2,140 plastic bottles are used and thrown away in their school every month, and that the pupils have written to their local community waste officer seeking assistance in ways to separate and contain this plastic, not just for their own school but for all the primary schools in West Dunbartonshire, and acknowledges the inspiring and innovative work of the pupils and their teachers, including taking their project to the Parliament in order to further raise awareness of this worldwide problem.
