Celebrating an Inspirational Centenarian from Kirkintilloch
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Mary Lawson, from Kirkintilloch, who recently celebrated her 100th birthday with family and friends and was thrilled with her card from The Queen; notes that Mary, who was born in the north of England, graduated with a BSc in Physics and Chemistry and that this very musical lady worked as an engineer in the department of sound at the BBC in London during the Second World War; understands that Mary is still very active and enjoys gardening at her home in Kirkintilloch; notes that she also completed an Open University degree when she was in her 90s, and considers her an inspiration to others.
