RSPB DolphinFest 2019
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes RSPB DolphinFest 2019, which will be Aberdeen’s first dolphin festival and takes place from 25 to 28 April; understands that the event, which is being organised by RSPB Scotland and funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and the ScottishPower Foundation, will take advantage of the city's scenic dolphin viewing sights, such as the Torry Battery, to raise awareness of the threats facing marine life and how people can play a role in protecting the country's beautiful wildlife; acknowledges that it will include a launch at the Beach Ballroom that will feature the guest speaker, Doug Allan, a science day at the University of Aberdeen’s zoology museum, a family fun day at Duthie Park and the event, Take Action at Torry Battery, which will aim to give people an exciting opportunity to see a range of north-east wildlife; congratulates the organisers, funders, supporters, participants and volunteers involved with the project, and sends its best wishes for a successful festival.
