Annalene Coyle Prepares for Ultra Marathon
The motion
That the Parliament commends the fundraising efforts of Annalene Coyle from Glenrothes who is preparing for a 150-mile ultra-marathon across the Sahara Desert in April 2019 to raise funds for Alzheimer Scotland; understands that Annalene signed up to the Marathon des Sables in honour of her father’s memory after his passing in July 2018 as a result of vascular dementia; believes that, despite only running for a year, Annalene has focused all of her energy into training for the epic adventure by taking on three single-day ultra-marathons, which is the equivalent of six marathons, as well as weight training and yoga; praises Annalene for raising money for Alzheimer Scotland, which is a charity that helps families living with dementia and where the money given is not just for research, and wishes Annalene the very best of luck with her ultra-marathon and in her future fundraising efforts.
